Holland to Hong Kong travel journal #18: Saying goodbye to Hong Kong with Cheap Michelin-starred food

I wanted to do something special on my last day in Hong Kong. It was not just my last day in Hong Kong, but also the end of my long overland journey that had started all the way in Holland. However, after spending quite a bit of money on two expensive day trips, I was looking for an inexpensive way to celebrate. Thankfully, good food comes cheap in Hong Kong. Even in the form of Michelin-starred dim sum at Tim Ho Wan.

Holland to Hong Kong travel journal #17: A day trip to Macao from Hong Kong

Before my trip to Hong Kong, I was in two minds about taking a day off my precious time there to visit places outside the city. I feared there wouldn’t be enough time to see Hong Kong and I didn’t want to waste a lot of travel time by visiting places outside the city. However, when I was there, I just couldn’t resist the urge to hop on a ferry for a day trip to Macao and cross another country off my list.

Holland to Hong Kong travel journal #16: Fulfilling childhood dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland

Holland to Hong Kong travel journal #15: Exploring Hong Kong cuisine with a DIY food tour

More often than not, it is made by someone who spends every single day making the same dish, perfecting it into a snack or a meal loved by both tourists and locals.

Holland to Hong Kong travel journal #14: Hiking the Dragon’s Back Trail

On Sunday, I wanted to escape the busy city and see some of the greener parts of Hong Kong. A large part of Hong Kong Island is actually not filled with skyscrapers, impossible as it may seem from the perspective of Victoria harbour. I was spending the day with my best friend. Our plan of hiking the Dragon’s Back trail didn’t really go as well as I’d hoped.

Holland to Hong Kong travel journal #13: Seeing Hong Kong through the eyes of a local

After travelling for 27 days and about 12.500km on trains, I finally reached Hong Kong. It felt strange to know that the train journey was over. At the same time, I was really excited to explore Hong Kong. During the first couple of days of my stay, I would finally get to hang out with my best friend in her home town.
